american linden (tilia americana) is a beautiful, deciduous tree native to northern turtle island (north america). typically growing 50-80ft tall, with a broad, round crown and lovely heart shaped leaves. the leaves of the linden tree can be and were traditionally used for herbal medicine. the leaves are still commonly used for tea in many places. linden has a calming & nervous system supportive medicine. , as well as supporting the body though colds & fever by inducing sweating. the flowers which happen mid to late summer are love by pollinators, and can also be harvested for medicine and tea. the wood was treasured for being light weight and easy to carve.

the linden tree prefers full sun, and thrives in well-drained and fertile soils.
