blue bean shrub (decaisnea fargesii) - an upright, deciduous shrub native to western china. sometimes called 'deadmans fingers'. produces metallic-blue colored decorative & edible fruit that is quite intriguing in appearance. the fruit is said to taste like watermelon. the seeds & peel are however poisonous. grows up to 14ft tall. hardy zone - 4-8
