solanum nigrum - a bountiful, sweet annual berry (actually a nightshade) that is delicious picked fresh & eaten by the handful, or used in sauces, jellies & jams. some say they are only to be eaten after cooking, but many gardeners say they are perfectly safe, just make sure they are fully ripe. if you’re the cautious type, just cook them up. they can grow quite prolifically and bush out similar to a bush bean.
